Based in Minneapolis, Walkabout is a landscape design and construction studio devoted to crafting bespoke, ecologically informed outdoor environments. Our work blends scenographic design with disciplined craftsmanship, resulting in gardens that feel both artful and inevitable — as though they’ve always belonged to the land.
We believe a landscape is more than an arrangement of plants and materials. It is a lived experience. It shapes how you arrive home, how you are inspired, how you exhale at the end of the day.

Meet our Founders
Walkabout’s founders, Laura and Kyle, have spent over ten years investigating nature’s gifts exploring Earth’s most beautiful landscapes and the cultures that support and surround them. Outdoor enthusiasts at heart, they rarely spend a day inside. Whether they are experimenting with new plants in their home gardens, hiking jungled trails, or diving coral reefs, their curiosity and reverence for nature’s beauty and generosity inspires them to reciprocate. Through their influence at Walkabout Outdoor, they aspire to have a positive impact on one of the landscapes they love most - Minnesota’s prairies and forests.
